Mechanical Systems Engineer

As a Mechanical Systems Engineer at HARMAN Professional Solutions, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative mechanical systems for our customer concept cars. This role requires strong technical skills in CAD engineering with CATIA V5 and experience in the design and engineering of injection-molded plastic components and stamped sheet metal components. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to plan and coordinate project tasks and deliver on agreed dates.
About the Role
In this role, you will contribute to innovation and concept projects, including time schedule estimations. You will also hold brainstorming sessions with colleagues to evaluate and define the best solution. Additionally, you will provide parts & modules for concept cars in cooperation with suppliers and involve with prototype part suppliers to align quality expectations and delivery. Your responsibilities will include verifying construction and modules, documenting your concept engineering, and preparing documentation for handover to product development.
What You Need
To succeed in this role, you must have a BSME, BSMET, or related degree. Alternatively, work experience beyond the minimum experience requirement may be an acceptable substitute for an engineering degree. You should have experience in the design and engineering of injection-molded plastic components, stamped sheet metal components, and mechanics design of industrial designed products with requirements to surface finish and visual appearance. You should also have CATIA V5 CAD design skills or equivalent in other CAD software and experience using PLM tools.
