Your ProfileWe are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual with a strong academic background in Egyptology, Classical Archaeology, Ancient History, Greek Philology, Latin Philology, or European Archaeology. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a funding proposal within the first six months for submission to the Swiss National Science Foundation or other relevant institutions.
Requirements- Hold a 1st class MA-degree in one of the mentioned fields
- Be highly motivated and personally involved in the PhD program
- Have a PhD project linked to the research fields of the Department of Ancient Civilizations at the University of Basel
Applicants should submit the following documents by email to the coordinator of the Doctoral Program of Basel Ancient Studies:
- Letter of motivation
- CV
- MA-Diploma
- 1-2 sample of text (max. 20 pages each)
- Sketch for the dissertation project (max. 3 pages)
- Letter of reference
Applications can be submitted in German, French, or English. The enrolment at the University of Basel is mandatory, and the first supervisor must be a member of the Department of Ancient Civilizations at the University of Basel.
