The selected professional will be part of a dynamic legal team managing complex dispute resolution, litigation, and arbitration cases, as well as supporting key M&A, trading, and corporate projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the management of complex dispute resolution, litigation, and arbitration cases, ensuring strategic management and reporting of high-value disputes.
- Support key M&A, trading, and corporate projects by providing expert legal advice and guidance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including M&A, project finance, and operational contracts.
- Provide business advisory services to trading desks and regional offices, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
- Participate in board meetings, prepare resolutions, and oversee corporate governance matters across affiliates.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in M&A, finance, and commercial contracts, with exposure to both civil and common law jurisdictions. A proven track record in handling complex, cross-border disputes, litigation, and arbitration, ideally in the energy, infrastructure, or commodities sectors, is required.
Fluency in French and English and experience navigating legal landscapes in Africa (OHADA law) and Europe are essential. A proactive approach to managing high-pressure cases and a solution-focused mindset are highly valued.
