PhD Position in Computational Biology for Biomarker Discovery

Empa, a research institution of the ETH Domain, is seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join its 'Multi-omics for healthcare materials' group. The project aims to discover novel protein and metabolite biomarkers specific for the early phases of chronic wound development.
Project OverviewThe PhD student will work closely with clinical partners and Empa groups to analyze datasets obtained through comprehensive proteomic and metabolomic characterization of wound exudates. The goal is to identify molecular determinants that lead to stalled wound healing and chronic wound development.
Responsibilities- Implement existing and develop novel approaches for biomarker identification from high-throughput molecular measurements
- Work closely with clinical partners and Empa groups to translate research results
- Guide analyses of datasets obtained through proteomic and metabolomic characterization of wound exudates
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate with a strong background in computational biology or a related field. Required qualifications include a Master's degree in computational biology or a related field, prior experience with programming, statistics, and biomedical research, and excellent English skills.
