Risk Management Specialist for Internal Control

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Phoenix Search & Consulting. As an internal control specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective and consistent design of our internal control systems.
Main Responsibilities- Manage and improve the internal control system (ICS) for the Group, acting as System Owner, and ensure that it is consistently designed and implemented effectively.
- Analyze newly issued Group and country governance documents to identify key controls to be created, review updated documents to determine if existing key controls need updates or new ones must be created.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to incorporate key controls into governance documents.
- Contribute to improving the ICS reporting process and related internal control environment to guarantee data reliability, accuracy, and audit-proof reporting processes and internal controls.
- Consolidate and prepare quantitative and qualitative ICS reports for local management, Group Risk Committee, General Management, Board of Directors, etc.
- Dive deeper into ICS reporting to analyze its quality and control evidence, working closely with Internal Audit and other stakeholders to identify negative trends or outliers and propose ad-hoc solutions.
- Perform group-wide training and awareness sessions on the Control Event Reporting process for staff members involved on a regular basis.
- Higher education in business administration, economics, or equivalent; CFA, FRM, or equivalent financial degree/trainings in risk management are a plus.
- At least five years of experience in risk management within the financial industry and additional experience in an international audit firm for at least 4 years would be desirable.
- Familiarity with internal banking operations and processes.
- Fair understanding of the legal and regulatory environment.
- Solid user skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Filemaker Pro (desirable).
- Independent self-starter with strong analytical skills, a persevering mindset, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Team player willing to take full ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
- Solution-oriented professional with a pragmatic approach who enjoys working closely with internal and external stakeholders across the international network.
- Strong communication and business writing skills in English and German.
The estimated annual salary for this position is between $80,000 - $120,000, depending on qualifications and location. This figure includes a base salary range and may be adjusted based on individual circumstances.
