Senior Ceph Architect for Kubernetes Storage Solutions

At Randstad, we are seeking a highly skilled Ceph expert to lead the re-design of our existing Ceph cluster. Our current solution is complex, non-scalable, and unstable, making it difficult to refactor without risking downtime. With new machines at our disposal, we aim to establish a new Ceph cluster based on the latest architecture and best practices, ensuring a more stable and scalable environment that can be confidently operated and maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in architecting and deploying high-performance, highly available Kubernetes-based Ceph storage solutions for S3 and K8s persistent volumes, catering to internal ETL, Data Analytics, and AI use cases.
- Hands-on involvement in automating deployment artefacts and developing a monitoring & alerting stack to efficiently operate our cluster.
- Provide Lifecycle Management (LCM) plans, including a set of automations, to enable seamless upgrades in a rolling-restart mode without affecting users.
Definition of Done:
- Architectural choices are proposed and validated.
- Deployments artefacts are tested to achieve efficient deployment from scratch.
- Monitoring and alerting stack is deployed on production.
- LCM plans and automated upgrades of all components across the cluster are designed, implemented, and tested on production.
- Ceph solution is proofed on a productive environment.
Requirements:
We are looking for a professional with:
- Proficiency in Ceph technology deployed on Kubernetes.
- Experience in designing, deploying, operating, and enhancing multiple Ceph solutions.
