Senior Financial Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for preparing and recording all general ledger entries in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports such as balance sheet review and fluctuation analysis with commentary and follow-up actions as required.
- Accounting Operations: Perform monthly and quarterly closings and follow up on long-time outstanding items.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze complex financial reports and records.
- Compliance: Support the statutory and tax accounting team on audit and compliance queries.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and business teams to ensure all transactions have been captured properly.
- Fixed Assets: Maintain the fixed asset register and post monthly entries relating to fixed assets.
- Policy Application: Understand company-wide accounting policies and apply relevant policies appropriately.
- Process Improvement: Identify and drive areas of improvement within current processes with the aim of maintaining the current high standard of service provided.
- Reporting: Generate any other internal reports required by different stakeholders.
- Support: Support management and the wider finance team on any ad-hoc duties or projects.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related major.
- Certifications: CPA/ACCA or equivalent is preferred.
- Skills: Solid knowledge of both USGAAP and IFRS.
- Experience: Experience in working with both Big 4 audit firms and multinational companies is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Solid Microsoft Suite skills, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of the internal controls environment and associated risks.
- Communication: Good understanding of the business, including interpretation of business events.
- Taxation: General understanding of taxation principles (both direct and indirect taxes).
- Attention to Detail: Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Time Management: Ability to meet deadlines, balance multiple priorities, and perform job responsibilities accurately.

- Language: Fluent in written and verbal English.
