About the Role

Capco is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team in Zurich. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing data pipelines for big data processing using technologies like Apache Spark, Kafka, and Airflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for big data processing.
  • Oversee the design and operation of data analytic solutions such as Azure Data factory, Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Implement data validation, encryption, and governance practices to maintain high standards of data integrity, security, and compliance with regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
  • Continuously explore and integrate new big data tools and frameworks to enhance data processing capabilities and system scalability.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in big data technologies, including Hadoop, Apache Spark, Kafka, and other distributed computing frameworks.
  • Advanced knowledge of ETL processes and experience in designing and managing ETL workflows using custom Python/Scala scripts.
  • Strong programming and data modeling skills, with proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala, and a deep understanding of SQL for complex queries, data modeling, and schema evolution.
  • Experience with data infrastructure and security, including managing data infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform.
  • Fluency in German and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
