Audit Trainee

Embark on a dynamic career in energy management as a Trainee Audit & Risk Management professional at Axpo.

As a Trainee Audit & Risk Management, you will collaborate with various divisions, gaining in-depth insights into the world of energy and building a strong network within the company.

The traineeship will commence on April 1, 2025, and last for 18 months, with the option to transition into a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gain insights into the daily operations of our finance department, particularly the Internal Audit team, as well as other divisions such as Energy Trading, Generation, and Distribution, Risk Management, and more.
• Work on various operational and strategic tasks, taking on responsibility from day one.
• The first assignment will be with Internal Audit, where you will:
  • Contribute to internal audits across Axpo Group, including planning audit engagement, identifying risks and techniques, conducting audit testing, following up on recommendations, and setting up data analytics for trends and insights.
  • Develop Group Risk assessments and strategic audit plans.
  • Design and implement audit tools and methodologies.
  • Set up project planning systems and design a collaboration model with Compliance and Risk Management.
  • Ensure compliance with International Internal Audit Standards.
• The second and third assignments will be in the area of your interest, such as the Trading & Sales department, Legal and Data Protection, Strategy, or even at our subsidiary CKW or an international Axpo Hub.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Risk Management, or Law (no more than 2 years of post-graduation professional experience).
• Knowledge of Corporate Governance and regulations as well as Internal Control and Risk Management Systems.
• Ability to understand and interpret financial statements.
• Project management skills are a plus.
• Driven and active in creating professional connections with empathy and assertiveness.
• Fluent in English and German.
