Geneva College invites applications for a Chemistry Lab Adjunct Faculty position in the Department of Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and mentoring students in the laboratory setting.


Responsibilities:



  • Preparing for laboratory experiments, providing guidance to students on lab techniques, and ensuring a safe laboratory environment.
  • Teaching assigned contact hours per semester, preparing all course materials and lessons, and providing each student with clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines.
  • Providing interesting and relevant assignments for students, suitably challenging, engaging, supporting, and communicating with students to encourage their participation and learning.
  • Ensuring course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus, and maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment.

Requirements:



  • A master's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, education (with science emphasis), or a closely related field.
  • Lab experience, with the ability to make laboratory solutions.
  • An eligible candidate must be a thoughtful and articulate Christian, an active member of a Protestant evangelical Christian church, and have a demonstrated ability to integrate a Christian perspective in their work.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • A PhD in chemistry or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching chemistry laboratory and using a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Curriculum development experience.
