Manufacturing Operations

Operational Duties:

  • Responsible for daily operations of upstream processes in manufacturing suites, including schedules and shift rotations.
  • Leads and develops manufacturing teams to ensure efficient and robust operations, with appropriate succession planning.
  • Participates in defining process parameters during routine manufacturing campaigns.
  • Builds cross-functional teams and interacts with quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing science, and technology.

Project Duties:

  • Works closely with the project management office, engineering, quality, and business technology to design, procure, and commission production equipment and automation systems.
  • Participates in technology transfer and operational readiness activities to implement new production processes and lines.
  • Supports capability, qualification, and process validation execution.

Quality:

  • Ensures implementation and adherence to current GMP rules, quality policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Contributes to continuous quality improvement initiatives and deviation reporting and follow-up.

EHSS:

  • Ensures implementation and adherence to EHSS legal requirements, rules, policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Contributes to EHSS initiatives and issues, as well as near-miss reporting and follow-up.

Position Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or food science.
  • Language: English, German is a must.

Experience & Competencies:

  • More than 10 years of successful experience in pharmaceutical operations in a GMP-relevant environment.
  • Requires experience in biotech or pharma processes, either in sterile processes, USP, DSP, solution preparation, single-use, CIP/SIP processes.
  • Good knowledge and competence in automated processes.
  • Experience in leading teams.

Additional Requirements:

  • Occasional weekend work according to production planning needs.
  • On-call support.
