PhytoComplexes Development Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our Nutreco External team as a Plant Production Development Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the development of our PhytoComplexes, which are used in the feed industry.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with our Discovery Group to select the optimum candidate plant species and develop a species-specific selection formula.
- Source plant accessions globally based on species-specific sourcing strategies and report on sourcing activities.
- Propagate and evaluate plant accessions in standardized greenhouse and field trials.
- Select and genetically identify superior plant accessions.
- Apply for plant variety registration.
- Continuously improve our plant materials through extended sourcing and/or crossbreeding, followed by evaluation of the progeny.
- Develop propagation techniques, cultivation methods, and post-harvest processing technologies for our PhytoComplexes.
- Compile guidelines for the production of our PhytoComplexes.
- Transfer developed production technology and plant material to our Plant Production Group, including compilation of production guidelines and conduct of internal and external trainings.
- Publish and present results in peer-reviewed journals and/or at international congresses.
- Train staff of Nutreco OpCos and Nutreco OpCos' business partners.
- Master's degree in Agronomy or Horticulture, with a specialization and first practical experiences in the areas of plant breeding and/or the conduct and evaluation of agronomic field experiments. PhD is a plus.
- Proven profound knowledge on plant breeding.
- Hands-on experience regarding the propagation of plants (in vitro and in vivo).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with team members and stakeholders across multiple teams in a global environment.
- Fluent in English, proficiency in German is a plus.
- High level of initiative, autonomy, reliability, and flexibility in handling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability/commitment to travel, up to 20% of the time, to visit plant breeding and agronomic trial sites, to attend scientific conferences, and to participate in collaborative meetings.
- A full-time position, 40 hours per week.
