Our organization leverages its capacity, capabilities, and expertise to execute end-to-end projects from initial assessment to forest maintenance. This enables us to deliver crucial infrastructure and technology to rural areas, create valuable jobs, and assist host governments and communities in achieving sustainable economic growth.

We are currently undergoing an exciting growth phase, aiming to expand from 3 to 6 country operations and achieve a net asset value of USD 1B within 3 years. We seek a seasoned and motivated COO to join our senior management team and lead operations during this growth phase and beyond.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the CEO
  • Direct management of Technical Directors (nursery, forestry, social investment) and Country Directors

Work Location and Travel:

  • Geneva, Switzerland
  • Anticipated travel of 8-12 weeks per year

Role Description:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee the operational aspects of Tree Global's business, focusing on three core areas:

  • Operational Strategy:
    • Developing and enhancing the operational strategy to align with the overall business strategy and divisional strategies
    • Supporting investment finance strategy and activities to secure funding for operational growth
    • Implementing and monitoring the operational risk management plan
    • Measuring and reporting on operational performance and developing plans
  • Country Operations:
    • Empowering country teams with the necessary leadership and resources to succeed
    • Overseeing operations and making adjustments to meet business goals and projections
    • Developing and managing operational budgets
    • Collaborating with functional support teams on HR, finance, risk management, and legal matters
    • Improving organizational operational processes and efficiency
  • Program Delivery:
    • Establishing central program delivery services to support country operations and build operational capacity for scalability

Requirements:

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A minimum of 15+ years work experience, including 5+ years in leadership and management within a multinational company environment
  • A proven track record of establishing and managing operations
  • A proven ability to lead rapid growth from early stages to successful and sustainable businesses
  • Experience in leveraging technology to drive operational performance and efficiency
  • Knowledge of carbon markets is an advantage
