We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Monetary Economist to join our team at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Basel, Switzerland. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and international environment, collaborating with experts from all over the world.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research and analysis on monetary economics and policy issues, serving as a hub for the world's central banking community. As a Senior Economist in our Monetary and Economic Department (MED), you will engage in innovative research, contribute to policy notes, serve on policy committees, and advise senior management on relevant issues.

What We Offer

Requirements
  • A PhD in economics or finance, preferably in the areas of macroeconomics and monetary economics, international finance, general financial markets, and financial institutions and services;
  • A genuine interest in policy-oriented research;
  • A proven track record in identifying and addressing complex policy issues; and
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English.
