We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our research group at ETH Zurich, focusing on crystallography and materials science. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating disordered crystal systems using advanced diffraction and computational methods.
About the PositionThis position offers the opportunity to work on a project that focuses on disorder driven by electron instabilities in single crystals. The candidate will have the chance to develop and apply machine learning approaches to model disordered crystals and simulate their diffuse scattering patterns.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements- Develop and apply machine learning approaches to model disordered crystals and simulate their diffuse scattering patterns
- Analyze and interpret data from diffraction experiments
- Collaborate with the research group to advance the understanding of disorder in single crystals
- PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related disciplines
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, etc.
- Experience in machine learning and large-scale atomic simulations (>10,000 atoms)
