Linux Systems Administrator

The Linux Engineer is responsible for ensuring that Genedata's worldwide IT infrastructure is properly configured and meets all security standards. This includes maintaining the RedHat Satellite and Ansible infrastructure, participating in planning and implementing Linux IT infrastructure, and performing software maintenance and automated Linux installation in a virtualized environment. Additionally, the role involves following internal SOP and documenting implementation, managing server hardware, and assisting in other fields such as Linux-Windows connectivity, firewalls, and backup systems.
Responsibilities
Maintain RedHat Satellite and Ansible infrastructure
Participate in planning and implementing Linux IT infrastructure
Perform software maintenance and automated Linux installation in a virtualized environment
Follow internal SOP and document implementation
Manage server hardware, including firmware updates
Assist in other fields, such as Linux-Windows connectivity, firewalls, and backup systems
Requirements
University degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with a minimum of 3 years related business experience
In-depth Linux client and server knowledge (RedHat)
Knowledge of Apache, SSL, SSSD, SSHD, Samba, DNS, DHCP, Postfix, and NFS
Scripting experience (e.g. Bash, Python)
Solid understanding of TCP/IP network configuration and troubleshooting
Experience with Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket, firewall concepts, virtualization with VMware ESXi, and performing 2nd level user support
