Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Systems Engineer to join our team of motivated and enthusiastic colleagues. As a Cloud Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the setup, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of our cloud-based systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, monitor, and maintain cloud-based systems for our clients
  • Assume tasks within the IT Service Management (ITSM) lifecycle, including performance, service, change, asset, incident, and problem management
  • Support the preparation of software artifacts for operation on Kubernetes
  • Declare distributed systems for Kubernetes in Helm Charts
  • Declare infrastructure components in Terraform for GPC, AWS, MS Azure, and our private cloud
  • Test and roll out new software releases in close collaboration with development, test management, and customer teams
  • Support the development of operation-supporting containers, such as log file extraction
  • Carry out error and performance analyses to restore or ensure stable operation using Prometheus and Ansible
  • Use current technologies and tools for continuous improvement and automation of system operation
  • Participate in on-call duties

Requirements

  • Computer science degree or successfully completed training in the IT field or comparable professional experience
  • Good Linux or BSD knowledge
  • Basic understanding of network protocols and architectures (TCP/IP, MPLS, peering, hub & spoke)
  • Practical experience with at least one cloud provider
  • Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, git)
  • Hands-on experience administering Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Rancher, Mesosphere, or OpenShift environments
  • Basic knowledge of software development
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills and strong customer focus
  • Fun and enthusiasm
  • Very good English skills
