Pharmaceutical Research Scientist

Endometriosis is a chronic condition affecting 5–10% of women of reproductive age. Current treatment options are limited, with pharmacological interventions primarily focused on pain alleviation. Recent research has highlighted the fibrotic aspect of the disease as a potential therapeutic target.
Our group at the University of Bern has developed 3D culture models of fibrosis in endometriosis to evaluate antifibrotic drugs with potential for repurposing. The successful candidate will work with biomaterials, additive manufacturing, cell culture techniques, extracellular vesicles, and omics technologies to develop advanced therapeutics for fibrosis treatment in a multidisciplinary environment.
The ideal candidate:
- holds a Master degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Pharmacy
- has experience with cell culture techniques
- can collaborate in an interdisciplinary manner
- is proactive and motivated with a passion for exploring new technologies
- is fluent in English
- is keen to teach and mentor undergraduate students
