We are looking for a highly skilled Commodity Trader - Iron Ore Logistics to join our team at Hochstrasser Personal. As a Commodity Trader - Iron Ore Logistics, you will be responsible for managing the logistics of iron ore transportation, including vessel chartering, rail, truck, and air transport, as well as releasing material in warehouse.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Logistics: Coordinate the transportation of iron ore, including vessel chartering, rail, truck, and air transport, and releasing material in warehouse.
  • Bank contacts – Letters of Credit (L/Cs): Open and check L/C's for suppliers and receivers, request amendments, and negotiate documents for collection of payment.
  • Hedging: Calculate metal quantities and foreign currency amounts to be priced.
  • Contact to clients/field offices: Correspond with clients and field offices on availability of material in production, transit, and in stock, as well as documentation, invoicing, payments, client exposure control, and claim handling.
  • Contact to supervision companies and laboratories: Provide detailed instructions for supervision jobs, assaying, and umpire.
  • Insurance: Insure risks of each transport as well as material in storage.
  • Internal tasks: Exchange emails and contact traders for contract execution, issue profit and loss calculations, and control client exposures, dealing with accounting in regards to bookings, account reconciliation, monthly closing tasks, and file liquidation.
Requirements:
  • A sound educational background (commercial apprenticeship or bachelor).
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience, ideally in commodity export/logistics.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written), further languages are of advantage.
  • Current SWISS B/C Permit or passport holder of EU / EFTA.
