Job Title: Site Reliability EngineerWe are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our interdisciplinary agile team. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing cloud infrastructure solutions, as well as operating and maintaining software and cloud infrastructure services according to our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. You will work closely with the team to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud infrastructure.
Main Responsibilities:- Enable DevOps Teams: Collaborate with DevOps teams to deliver secure, compliant, and resilient software services with a short time to market.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Software Architects: Work with Product Owners and Software Architects to design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Deploy Infrastructure Components: Deploy infrastructure components and services to different environments using continuous deployment practices.
- Conduct Architecture Reviews: Conduct regular architecture reviews and participate in surveillance and compliance activities.
- Provide Consultancy Services: Provide consultancy services for macro and security architecture to DevOps teams.
- Identity and Access Management: Implement Identity and Access Management (IAM) for cloud infrastructure.
- Onboarding and Offboarding: Participate in the onboarding and offboarding process of staff members.
- On-call Rotation: Participate in the team's on-call rotation to provide 3rd level support and ensure system and service availability.
- Monitoring and Security: Develop and operate monitoring systems, including metrics, logs, and security information and event management (SIEM) for cloud infrastructure.
- Disaster Recovery: Define, develop, test, and practice disaster recovery procedures.
- VPN Services: Develop and operate VPN services to provide secure and reliable connections to our infrastructure.
- Infrastructure as Code: Experience in writing and operating infrastructure as code with a focus on reliable day two operations.
- Infrastructure Management Tools: Experience with at least one of the following infrastructure management tools: Pulumi, Terraform, AWS CDK, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Programming Languages: Experience in writing software in at least one of the following programming languages: TypeScript, Rust, Go, or Python.
- Linux/Unix Shell: Familiarity with Linux/Unix shell is a plus.
- Public Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with public cloud infrastructure concepts, with experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) being a plus.
- Git Version Management: Familiarity with the Git version management system (GitLab) and CI/CD best practices (GitLab pipelines).
- Containerized Software Services: Experience in writing and operating highly available and scalable containerized software services on top of Kubernetes, AWS ECS, AWS Fargate, or Docker.
- Monitoring Systems: Familiarity with monitoring systems like Grafana, Prometheus, DataDog, or CloudWatch is a plus.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English, with German being a plus but not mandatory.
- Flexibility: We offer a 4-day (80%) working week or a 5-day (100%) working week.
