Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoc Position in Organic Functional Materials to join our interdisciplinary research group at the Universität Bern. The successful candidate will design and develop a variety of Nitrogenated Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (N-PAHs) with encoded functionalization for studying charged or excited-states on surfaces using time-resolved AFM/STM.

Responsibilities
  • Design and synthesis of N-PAHs under moisture- and oxygen-free conditions
  • Analytical and purification methods, including NMR, UV-Vis, Cyclic Voltammetry, HPLC, and MS
  • Interdisciplinary research collaboration and experimental work
Requirements
  • PhD degree in organic chemistry with a strong track record
  • Strong background in organic synthesis and analytical methods
  • Good command of written and spoken English
