About This Role
This is a key position within the Mondelēz International Europe Logistics Procurement team, responsible for the sourcing of cross-border transportation and pallets across the Pan-European geography.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for Pan-European cross-border transportation and pallets to secure services at the optimum cost.
- Manage a team of sourcing managers and procurement specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure successful delivery of projects.
- Own the supplier relationship management strategy for transportation services, ensuring effective deployment across over 100 strategic and transactional carrier relationships.
- Collaborate with Load Control Center (LCC) to further develop, evolve, and grow the Business Control Tower strategy.
- Co-lead and drive the Human Rights Due Diligence program to improve the working conditions of the European driver force and ensure Mondelēz and its providers are fully compliant with related local legislation.
- Enhance standard ways of working to ensure effective price management of embedded transport spend.
- Own, lead, and drive the delivery of the ONE Pallet supply solution for Europe.
- Set the 3-year strategic plan for exceeding key deliverables in productivity, cash, and simplification in cross-border transportation and pallets across Europe.
- Collaborate with the Sourcing Manager for Domestic Transportation to ensure best practice sharing, sourcing, and effective supplier relationship management.
- Lead European Transport Market Analytics, including pan-European transport rate benchmarking.
- Responsible for financial planning for Stat Plan and Annual Contract (AC) financial planning, leading the inflation guidance setting for each financial planning cycle.
- Role model bringing the outside-in, learning, and sharing external insights and leveraging this knowledge to raise the bar on MEU performance.
- Take control of raw and pack transportation.
Requirements
- Solid procurement experience across several markets or on a regional level in Europe is essential.
- Strategic sourcing, risk management, and total cost ownership expertise is a must.
- Advanced negotiation and solid dispute/claim management skills.
- Expert knowledge in logistics in general and transportation specifically (procurement or operations) across the European market place.
- Master's degree in logistics, supply chain, or engineering is highly desirable.
- Demonstrating a future-focused mindset, showing curiosity about industry trends, digital solutions, and innovation, and translating opportunities into business strategies.
- Business and financial acumen and an understanding of how procurement brings financial value to the overall profit and loss.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills as well as the ability to interact effectively and build trust at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, based on a deep understanding of business priorities and subject matter expertise.
- Advanced analytical skills: solid experience to perform complex parametric bidding. Knowledge of advanced e-sourcing systems (CSO, Jagger, etc.) is a plus.
- Able to manage ambiguity – working within a complex, fluid, organizational environment with limited data visibility and diverse processes.
- Must be able to act autonomously, develop, manage, and lead own agenda and take decisions.
- Comfortable identifying, setting, and delivering against stretch targets.
- Ability to manage a high level of diverse projects simultaneously.
- Proven track record of leading and developing teams in a multi-cultural environment.
- Modeling trust, integrity, and perseverance.
- Fluent in English. Knowledge of other European languages is a plus.
