Laser Mass Spectrometry Expert

We are seeking an experienced Laser Scientist RILIS (Tenure Track) to join our team in the Radionuclide Development Group at the Paul Scherrer Institute PSI.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in laser mass spectrometry and develop expertise in online mass separation systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing online mass separation systems for IMPACT/TATTOOS
- Establishing and optimizing laser resonance ionization for TATTOOS and the proposed PROMAS offline mass separator facility
- Contributing to Technical Design Reports and securing research funding
- Producing high-quality scientific publications and reports
- Presenting at international conferences and fostering collaboration with ISOL institutions
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A PhD degree in atomic physics or a related field
- Proven experience in mass separation and laser-resonance ionization, as well as proficiency in relevant simulation software
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with knowledge of German being an advantage
