Packaging Development Specialist

Job Description:

Gi Group SA is seeking a skilled Packaging Development Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the packaging team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design, development, and testing of package components and packaging systems. Your primary focus will be on the bottle & cap portfolio, while also providing support for other packaging portfolios such as corrugate, bulk, label, fill & pack engineering. Additionally, you will be involved in data management tasks related to packaging specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the design, development, and testing of package components & packaging systems to ensure regulatory compliance for transportation and product registration.
- Provide maintenance and troubleshooting support to adjacent supply chain functions and end-users to ensure a safe user-friendly customer experience.
- Perform data management tasks related to packaging specifications.
- Provide supervised support to New Product Introduction (NPI) teams, ensuring all packaging-related milestones are completed on time

Requirements:

- B.S. in Packaging Engineering or correlated areas (Industrial Engineer, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.)
- Ideally, approximately 2 years of professional experience as a Packaging Engineer (experience in a similar industry would be beneficial but not mandatory).
- Experience in laboratory equipment for packaging measurement and testing is preferred.
- Consult with more experienced engineers to ensure all packaging testing and qualification projects meet a high level of scientific integrity.
- Work closely with other engineers to identify and deliver cost savings and efficiency opportunities.
- Ability to work supervised or independently with all functions to deliver goals on key projects or initiatives.
- Intermediate English level (C1 or equivalent), German (Swiss) local language proficiency would be beneficial.
