Senior Financial Analyst Accountant

The ideal candidate for this Senior Financial Analyst Accountant role will have a strong background in accounting and financial analysis, with the ability to apply technical skills in a practical context.

This position is available immediately on a 3-month temporary contract, with the potential to become permanent based on the client's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end closing schedules, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments during the closing process, maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements for management review, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and work with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, fostering strong relationships and delivering excellent results.
  • Review variance analysis, identifying and investigating discrepancies in financial reports, and developing effective solutions.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, presenting complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Review and analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to drive business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial reporting requirements, upholding the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Monitor and review accounting procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting within a relevant industry, with a proven track record of success.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP systems, with expertise in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Strong expertise of IFRS norms, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills, able to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
