Pyro Process Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Process Optimization Specialist to join our team at CEMEX. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading and assuring compliance of safety, environmental, quality, operational, and optimization in cement operations.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide technical, process, and operational support on programmed or outstanding activities.
- Lead process assessments to detect and improve pyro process conditions.
- Optimize cement production lines to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Train process engineers in operations facilities to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.
- Support process optimization projects for new lines and expansion initiatives.
- Coordinate and lead activities or projects in cement plants to ensure timely completion and quality delivery.
- Evaluate new technologies and assess their impact on pyro-process operations.
- Assess the impact of new alternative fuels on pyro-process operations.
Position Challenges
- Develop heat and mass balance from cement lines to optimize production processes.
- Manage and execute projects in cement plants on time and within budget.
- Optimize main KPIs from cement industry operations to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Transfer process knowledge to new process engineers to ensure knowledge continuity.
- Develop control room operators with knowledge of cement process to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate effectively with all value chains to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Follow up on action plans with process engineers and operators from cement plants to ensure timely completion.
- Develop external relations with suppliers of technology or external contractors' companies to ensure access to latest technologies.
Qualifications
- Fluent English and Spanish language skills, with a third language being an advantage.
- Academic background in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering, with a bachelor's degree, and a master's degree being an advantage.
- At least 2 years of experience in the cement industry as a process engineer, supervisor, or operator.
- Technical skills required by the role, including knowledge of manufacturing processes in the cement industry and understanding of process requirements in different areas of the cement industry.
- Soft skills, including communication skills, leadership, moderation, self-driven, management, and self-motivated, with the ability to develop networks in cement plants and analyze, define, and solve problems in daily operations.
