About the Role
The Bar Waiter will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to guests at the bar, lounge, and sundeck on Viking ships.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve drinks in accordance with company standards, menus, and recipes.
- Operate the bar according to standard operating procedures.
- Ensure a high level of cleanliness in the bar, pantry, lounge, and sundeck in accordance with HACCP standards and public health policies.
- Control bar costs within the budget, including establishing weekly stock orders and conducting inventory.
- Assist in organizing and executing F&B-related ship functions and special events.
- Participate in onboard training programs and daily departmental meetings, occasionally assist and rotate in the restaurant to work as Chef de Rang.
Requirements
- 2 years' experience as a Bar Waiter/Bartender or similar at a 5-Star hospitality and/or restaurant environment.
- Must be 21+ years old; physically fit and in good health; must be able to carry heavy items and stand, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time.
- Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance, and impeccable hygiene standards.
- Excellent knowledge of all public health policies.
