Job Summary
The Second Officer is a key member of the bridge team, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the ship. This role requires a high level of technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute bridge watch-standing and navigational duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Support the Captain, Staff Captain, and Chief Mate in technical matters related to the ship's operation.
- Assist in the training and development of junior officers and crew members.
- Conduct weekly sanitation inspections in the provision room and ensure compliance with company health and hygiene policies.
- Supervise the integrated pest control program and ensure the ship's water supply is properly managed.
- Collaborate with the Safety Officer to ensure crew safety and familiarization with ship systems.
- Participate in cabin inspections and attend social events as required by the Staff Captain.
Requirements
- Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken.
- IMO STCW Certificate of Competency.
- Extensive experience in a similar role with another cruise line.
- Basic knowledge of Windows-based programs.
- Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Recognized medical certification.
VISA Requirements
USA VISA required for certain positions.
