About the RoleThis Senior Expert Engineering position plays a critical role in shaping Novartis' automation landscape. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and improving automation processes across buildings, equipment, and utilities. With a focus on delivering cost-effective and efficient technical solutions, this expert will serve as a subject matter authority on automation and interface with IT teams.
The ideal candidate will possess 5 years of engineering experience in automation within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record of resolving software/automation problems and ensuring reliable operation of building control/automation systems. A strong understanding of global standards and experience in maintaining system availability and performance are also essential.
In addition to their technical expertise, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Automation Process Development: Design, implement, and maintain historian configurations for modules/visualization/OPEX, while ensuring compliance with global standards.
- Software Change Control: Implement software change controls associated with automation/system changes, guaranteeing seamless integration and minimal disruption.
- Automation Solution Ownership: Own and develop automation solutions that meet specific manufacturing environment needs, leveraging best practices and expertise across the Engineering network.
- 5 years of engineering experience in automation within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven track record of resolving software/automation problems and maintaining reliable operation of building control/automation systems.
- Strong understanding of global standards and experience in maintaining system availability and performance.
- Maintenance and development of building automation and related systems in adherence with global/local procedures.
- Skills in C&Q within automation (CSV).
- Extended knowledge of GxP/HSE/Quality systems.
