Job Summary
MSC Cruises is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance of all electrical equipment throughout the ship and the engine room. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems, as well as supervising a team of electricians to perform routine maintenance and repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Assign and oversee the work of electricians, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Inspect electrical equipment and systems to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure that electrical equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that electrical systems are integrated with other shipboard systems.
- Ensure that all electrical work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Train and develop electricians to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Monitor and control the use of electrical materials and supplies, ensuring that they are used efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure that all electrical equipment is properly documented and maintained, including records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in electrical maintenance and repair, preferably in a marine or shipping environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment, including high and low voltage systems.
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team of electricians.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with other departments and stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve electrical issues.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, as required.
Qualifications
- Certificate of Competence III/7 ETR.
