Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Coopers iET AG. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in shaping our company's legal strategy around data, technology, and privacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide practical guidance on minimizing legal risks for new technologies, data processing, and innovative projects.
  • Monitor and enhance the data privacy program, recommending improvements for a best-in-class approach.
  • Align with cross-functional teams on data privacy initiatives and legal requirements, building strong relationships across global business units.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, offering expert guidance on data privacy in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and refine the data privacy framework, including processes and standards.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research on emerging data privacy issues, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate risks.
  • Draft and review contracts and legal documents related to technology, data, and privacy.
  • Develop and publish guidelines, articles, and reports on data privacy topics.
  • Liaise with external counsel, regulatory bodies, and data protection authorities to address complex data privacy issues.
  • Stay informed on technological advancements to anticipate data privacy implications and adapt strategies accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Law degree with bar admission and at least 8 years of professional experience, ideally within a law firm or the legal department of a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise and thought leadership in privacy, technology, and data, with a deep understanding of relevant technologies.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and analytical abilities, with a talent for simplifying complex matters and communicating effectively with senior management and external experts.
  • Proactive, autonomous, and solution-oriented approach with a collaborative, team-focused attitude and the ability to think creatively.
  • Excellent command of English; additional languages are a plus.
