System Engineer Energy Specialist

At Sécheron Hasler Group, we're proud of our heritage in railway technology. As a leader in on-board electronics for railway vehicles, we're expanding our System Engineering team and seeking a skilled System Engineer to join our ranks.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing activities related to new and existing products, working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver exceptional results.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Requirements management for creating the System Specification
  • Generating and managing technical project documentation and deliverables
  • Creating configurations for onboard electronic products like event recorders, energy meters, and gateways
  • Specifying and executing system tests according to project requirements
  • Ensuring correct configuration control of projects for both hardware and software
  • Developing PLC-based applications for select products
  • Maintaining technical interfaces with customers and internal employees
  • Supporting colleagues in the project team
  • Providing technical support to customers during projects
  • Commissioning and training customers primarily in Europe
  • Defining test equipment and tooling requirements and ensuring timely availability
  • Contributing to R&D validation of new hardware and software solutions
  • Supporting product management for standardized solutions with 3rd-party components

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A university degree in a technical field like electrical or electronic engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience (for senior roles)
  • The ability to prioritize and organize activities, generating and maintaining project schedules
  • Experience in railway projects, preferably with safety-related development
  • The capacity to identify project risks and opportunities
  • Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English, both spoken and written; additional languages are a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organizational and adaptability skills to thrive in a dynamic environment
