About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IP Counsel to join our team at Optotune, a leading developer and manufacturer of active optical components. As an IP Counsel, you will play a crucial role in driving the future of optical technology and contributing to the company's success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patent Management: Identify valuable IP, manage invention disclosures, and draft patent applications.
  • Prosecution and Defense: Prosecute patent applications with outside counsel and defend against potential infringement claims.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with inventors, management, and outside counsel to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • IP Strategy and Development: Develop and implement IP strategies to optimize the patent portfolio and drive business growth.
  • Prior Art Search and Analysis: Conduct prior art searches and analyze search results to inform patent application drafting and prosecution.
  • IP Licensing and Litigation: Support IP licensing negotiations and develop strategies for IP-related disputes.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Degree in engineering science or related field, with a strong background in patent law and experience in the field of optics or optoelectronics.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of technology matters, particularly in mechanics and optics.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English, with German preferred.
