About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer for System Control and Modeling to join our team at Pilatus Aircraft Ltd in Stans, Switzerland.

Job Description

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer who wants to leverage their skills and experience to contribute to the development of cutting-edge aircraft systems. As a Senior Engineer for System Control and Modeling, you will be responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining numerical models of aircraft systems.

You will perform modeling and simulation activities to support systems architecture definition, component sizing, and requirements validation within the New Projects department. Your close connection between Systems Engineers and model-driven processes (Model-Based System Engineering and Model Based Design) will ensure effective airborne software generation.

Collaboration with systems and software architects is essential to maintain consistency across systems, effective documentation, and design for modularity and re-use. You will also support System Engineers with hardware-in-the-loop testing for systems integration/verification.

Your contributions will include writing and reviewing system requirement documents and certification engineering reports.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A University Degree in Mechanical-, Electrical- , System Engineering or similar
  • Strong background in plant modelling and simulation of mechanical and/or electrical systems with graphical programming environments e.g. Simulink, Labview, SCADE
  • Knowledge of project management and issue tracking tools e.g. JIRA, version control e.g. GIT, DevOps development practices and CI/CD process automation e.g. Jenkins
  • Experience in design/development of system control laws and embedded controllers is a strong plus
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, German language skills are a strong plus
  • Ability to efficiently engage with various stakeholders, both internal and external to the organization
