Job Title: Trigger and Data Acquisition Expert

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Trigger and Data Acquisition Expert to join our team at CERN. As a key member of our Experimental Physics Department, you will play a crucial role in the development and operation of the DUNE far detector's Trigger and Data Acquisition system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software for the trigger infrastructure within the TDAQ system;
  • Develop data selection algorithms to reduce raw detector data by 4 orders of magnitude while retaining full physics potential;
  • Work closely with TDAQ experts to embed data selection process within readout hardware platforms;
  • Supervise students and graduates working on DUNE trigger sub-system;
  • Contribute to operation and performance optimization of DUNE prototype detectors at CERN Neutrino Platform;
  • Contribute to installation and commissioning of TDAQ system for DUNE far detectors.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Physics or related field;
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and testing multithreaded and distributed C++ based software systems;
  • Extensive experience with neutrino physics experiments, preferably in online data filtering;
  • Experience using C++/python for trigger simulation and performance validation tools;
  • Installation, commissioning, and/or operating a particle physics experiment would be an asset.
