About the Role
- We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Galley Operations Manager to lead our culinary team on board.
Job Description
Culinary Leadership- As Galley Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and managing the entire food service operation, ensuring seamless execution of events, food preparation, presentation, and delivery.
- You will be the link between your assigned venue and the Main Galley, ensuring safe and quality food production, and creating a guest-oriented service culture.
- Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring compliance with Company Procedures and STAR Service Standards;
- Managing interactions with guests and resolving complex situations effectively;
- Fostering a positive and productive work environment among multi-cultural teams;
- Providing leadership and coaching to direct reports, including performance reviews and succession planning;
- Maintaining impeccable grooming standards and upholding Viking's Image and Uniform Standards.
- You will also be required to:
- Inspect and maintain high-quality standards in food preparation and presentation;
- Monitor and control flagged and expensive item requisitions;
- Assist with Cooking Demonstrations and take over the Executive Chef's position temporarily, if needed.
Requirements
- A minimum of ten years' culinary experience, including three to four years as a Chef de Cuisine or similar position in premium brand hospitality environments;
- Advanced culinary skills, including knowledge of Public Health and Sanitation compliance;
- Excellent English communication skills and fluency in other languages is an advantage;
- Able to physically handle 50+ lbs. (30KGs) on a daily basis, and work a minimum of eleven hours a day, seven days a week.
