OCHA, the Inter-Agency Humanitarian Financing Unit of the United Nations Secretariat, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Multilingual Interpreter to join its team.

Job Description:

  • Serve as a primary interpreter for high-level meetings and events within the organization, ensuring accurate and clear communication between stakeholders.
  • Provide interpretation services for various international organizations, including the United Nations, using advanced technical skills and knowledge of global politics and diplomacy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective communication strategies that support the organization's goals and objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional interpreting experience in international organizations, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality interpretation services.
  • Expertise in English and French languages, with the ability to interpret into both languages fluently and accurately.
  • Demonstrated understanding of international relations, global politics, and humanitarian issues.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to travel frequently, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
