Job Description & Responsibilities
In this role, you will be part of our Operations team and help address the operational needs of a mixed on-premises and cloud Linux environment. You will work with end users to understand requirements and resolve trouble tickets. Your primary focus will be on implementing tools and processes for the efficient and effective operational management of the environment.

You will also schedule and provide after-hours or weekend support to perform high-risk or planned downtime of IBKR's data center systems for upgrades and maintenance. Additionally, you will participate in eliminating issues through automation and engagement with Platform Engineering teams on more complex projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Essential job functions include strong operational skills, hands-on experience with configuration management tools, ability to handle pressure during outages, and willingness to take on new technologies. You should have a solid understanding of host, network, and cloud security concepts, as well as strong background in Linux administration.
  • Able to communicate complex technical concepts to individuals of varying technical ability
  • Familiarity with AWS or another cloud provider is preferred
  • Experience in Python scripting
