Job Overview

The University of Zurich is seeking a highly motivated and skilled PhD candidate to join our research group in computational chemistry. The successful candidate will work on developing and applying novel, accurate approaches for the study of functional catalytic compounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply advanced dynamic approaches for detailed and realistic study of reaction mechanisms and reaction networks, considering environmental effects under catalytic conditions.
  • Develop enhanced sampling and machine learning approaches to improve the accuracy and efficiency of computational simulations.
  • Collaborate with experimental or other computational groups to advance the understanding of catalytic processes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in chemistry, interdisciplinary natural sciences, physics, or related field.
  • Excellent English language skills and autonomous learning ability.
  • Strong programming skills and knowledge of electronic structure theory, molecular dynamics, catalysis, and machine learning.
