Job Description

Your responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to the definition, simulation, design, and documentation of superconducting circuits for the High Luminosity Upgrade project (HL-LHC) and the HL-LHC Inner Triplet (IT) String team at CERN.

The main tasks will include:

  • Global optimization of HL-LHC circuits considering performance, operation, and cost.
  • Organization of technical and global reviews on design aspects related to interfaces and operational performance.
  • Investigation of solutions considering Accelerator Physics and Performance, Superconducting Magnets Design, Cold-Warm Powering, Machine Protection, Cryogenics, Integration, and Installation issues.
  • Preparation of strategies and documents for circuit instrumentation and magnet polarities.
  • Verification of magnet circuit implementation in the HL-LHC IT String, focusing on instrumentation, circuit polarities, and required tests.
  • Contribution to the operation of the facility, ensuring test programs are executed according to schedule and communicating test status to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Professional background in Electric Engineering or a related field.
  • Master's degree with 2-6 years of post-graduation experience or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation experience.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Team attitude and good communication skills.
