Emotional Wellbeing Specialist

This is a permanent post at Geneva English School, ideally commencing in 2025. As an Emotional Wellbeing Specialist, you will play a vital role in promoting the mental health and wellbeing of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take an active role in monitoring and promoting positive behaviour, relationships, personal and social development among students.
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead for the Secondary school, ensuring effective systems are in place to support students' social and emotional needs.
  • Liaise with teaching staff to provide guidance on supporting students' social and emotional needs.
  • Meet individually with students and parents, as required, to address any concerns or issues.
  • Develop and teach the Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PHSE) curriculum, incorporating relevant topics and skills.
  • Support and advise staff on safeguarding and mental health matters, providing expert guidance and resources.
  • Maintain a proactive and enthusiastic attitude towards your role, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.

Person Specification:

  • An appropriate qualification in Psychology and relevant work experience with adolescents in a school setting.
  • Fluent spoken and written English, with strong verbal and written communication skills. A good level in French is also necessary for liaison with local agencies, as required.
  • Confident in liaising with the wider community, including external professionals and parents.
  • Able to recognise signs and behaviours indicating mental health needs and develop strategies to address them.
  • Able to handle Primary and Secondary students' emotional issues and respond appropriately in crisis situations.
  • Able to work autonomously and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Discreet, proactive, empathic, and accessible.

The Position Offers:

  • A competitive salary of approximately CHF 80,000 - 90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
