Randstad is seeking a skilled Ceph expert to lead the re-design of our cluster architecture. This role requires strong technical knowledge and experience in deploying high-performance, highly available Kubernetes-based Ceph storage solutions.

Job Description

Project Overview

We currently have a complex Ceph solution in place that lacks scalability and stability. Our goal is to create a new Ceph cluster with the latest components and best practices, ensuring a more stable and scalable environment that can be confidently operated and maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy a high-performance and highly available Kubernetes-based Ceph storage solution for S3 and K8s persistent volumes, supporting internal ETL, Data Analytics, and AI use cases.
  • Develop and automate deployment artefacts, as well as design and implement a monitoring and alerting stack to ensure smooth operation of the cluster.
  • Create LCM plans and automated upgrades of all components across the cluster, enabling rolling-restart mode without impacting users.

Definition of Done:

  • Propose and validate architectural choices.
  • Test deployments artefacts to achieve efficient deployment from scratch.
  • Deploy monitoring and alerting stack on PROD.
  • Design, implement, and test LCM plans and automated upgrades on PROD.
  • Prove Ceph solution on productive environment.

Professional and Technical Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in Ceph technology deployed on Kubernetes and have designed, deployed, operated, and enhanced multiple Ceph solutions.
