Security Engineer Data Loss Prevention

We are looking for a highly proactive and solution-oriented Data Loss Prevention Security Specialist to join our team. As a key member, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and implementing proof-of-concept enhancements and solutions in our security platform.

The ideal candidate will have excellent abstract and conceptual thinking skills, a highly structured approach, and the ability to independently assess and prioritize tasks. A strong understanding of Symantec DLP, Zscaler DLP, and Imperva Secure Sphere platforms is an advantage.

We offer a competitive $120,000 - $180,000 per year salary package, along with benefits such as flexible working hours, comprehensive training programs, and opportunities for career growth and development.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and building proof-of-concept enhancement(s)/solution(s) in the appropriate security platform
  • Implementing enhancement(s)/solution(s) into the production security system(s)
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining standardized testing procedures and system changes for ongoing maintenance and support
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to confirm and identify all requirements for engineering services
  • Contributing to the research, design, and implementation of alternative security solutions that reduce costs, improve performance, and/or meet new requirements
  • Communicating with customers as required, keeping them informed of incident progress and notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
  • Conducting and participating in security product and skill training for personal and team growth
  • Planning and coordinating any Change Management, Release, and/or other Go-Live activities
  • Performing upgrades, application tuning, and infrastructure changes
  • Participating in the team's on-call rotation
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Functioning as a subject matter expert (SME) for DLP platform within the organization
  • Functioning as a subject matter expert (SME) for Database Activity Monitoring platform within the organization
  • Working with vendors to implement and support the platforms, including troubleshooting and upgrading
  • Maintaining the platforms, configuring policies, and compiling reports for analytics
  • Collaborating on the DLP rule development lifecycle including policy development, response rules, and maintenance
  • Willingness for on-call 7/24h

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A highly proactive, solution-oriented approach with good abstract and conceptual thinking skills
  • A highly structured and goal-oriented approach to tasks
  • The ability to independently assess and prioritize resolution of outstanding tasks and requests
  • Contribution to the development of architecture, concepts, and processes related to the security platforms
  • Ability to work closely with multiple application and business teams
  • Higher professional education (Advanced Technical College, Swiss Federal Diploma) or comparable education (CISSP) with relevant practical knowledge
  • Basic scripting experience with one or more of the following PowerShell, Python, Bash/Shell
  • Experience in working with GIT, SQL, REST, Regular Expressions
  • Fluent written and spoken English (B2)
  • Good knowledge of German
