Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to lead our technical project team and drive project goals and milestones. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the Basis of Design and executing it until the end of OQ. This role will also act as the SME for the design phase of the project, working closely with MSAT and Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the selection of Design Engineering strategy and partner selection, including the development of a design deliverables list.
  • Manage the Construction and Engineering Team from Detail Design to handover to Operations.
  • Ensure that Lonza technical standards are effectively communicated and understood through the development of a project technical standard.
  • Support the development of the project plan, including scheduling of all technical activities such as equipment design, installation, commissioning, and qualification.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage the project budget and control costs to ensure that the project stays within its financial constraints.
  • Solve complex technical problems that arise during the project.
  • Ensure that all technical aspects of the project meet regulatory requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and other industry standards.
  • Effectively communicate project status, risks, and issues to the project team, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Manage change requests and assess the impact of proposed changes on the project schedule, budget, and technical scope.
Requirements
  • Bachelor/Master degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in project engineering and project management for chemical, biochemical, pharmaceutical industries with international experience.
  • Broad technical knowledge of various engineering disciplines in the pharmaceutical environment.
  • Task-oriented person with a track record of achieving results.
  • Proven experience in cost control and scheduling related to investment projects.
  • Experience in engineering aspects of facility design to build a compliant but cost-effective plant.
  • Knowledge of modern CQV approaches to minimize the time from construction completion to routine production while maintaining compliance.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Good understanding of the CDMO industry/business.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
  • Effective influencing skills.
  • Strong collaborative mindset.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and coach direct reports and teams with or without direct line responsibility.
