Software Engineering Specialist for Safety Critical Applications

About the Job

We are seeking an Application Engineer (M/W) for one of our clients based in Geneva. This role will involve working on safety critical applications.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain application documentation, including requirements and test cases;
  • Review and test against specifications and establish test traceability;
  • Test the application, including creating test plans and reports;
  • Analyze and describe issues/bugs in JIRA;
  • Synchronize and update the Test Results Management tool;
  • Perform formal system tests (Site Acceptance Test and Factory Acceptance Test);
  • Analyze defects/incidents to find the root cause of problems;
  • Provide 3rd level maintenance support in cooperation with maintenance and engineering teams and customers;
  • Contribute to development activities.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in computing, ideally in the air traffic control domain or other areas with real-time and security requirements;
  • High analytical capacity and ability to understand end-user needs to transcribe them into software requirements or test cases;
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and utilize time effectively;
  • Rigorous with a taste for challenge to work in a dynamic environment with a good team spirit;
  • Fluent written and spoken English; German or French is an asset;
  • Professional experience in an agile or scaled agile environment is preferable;
  • ED153/ED109 or ED12B/C standards are major advantages for this position;
  • Usage of tools like IBM Rational DOORS or Siemens Polarion is appreciated;
  • Test automation experience is a plus;
  • ATSEP certification is a plus.
