Wireless Product Engineer, Enterprise Networking

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at Cisco Meraki, where you will play a key role in building software powering networking platforms for applications such as routing, switching, wireless, cable access and Internet of Things.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new features for our Wireless products, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Write specifications, code, unit test and integrate code across multiple platforms, leveraging your expertise in C and C++.
  • Test simulated and real hardware in customer and scaled scenarios, identifying and resolving issues.
  • Contribute to unit automation, integration, feature, and system level testing, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Support and maintain software quality, helping customers debug issues and fix defects.
  • Plan, design, operate and improve continuous integration and automated testing systems, writing and delivering tests for the toolset.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Early in career experience in student level positions or internships.
  • Good understanding of embedded software, networking, wireless and IoT.
  • Interest in collaborating with multi-functional teams in a highly collaborative, inclusive, and agile atmosphere.
  • Keen to learn, grow, and evolve in a dynamic environment.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in writing software in C and C++.
  • Networking experience including TCP/IP, L2 and L3 protocols.
  • Cloud and container technologies such as Docker.
  • Problem-solving skills, with experience in testing, troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownership of tasks.
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.

Bonus Skills:

  • Knowledge of Python, Java and Kotlin.
  • Experience with real-time O/S and Unix/Linux development tools.
  • Understanding of Wireless Networking Technologies.
  • Experience with scripting and unit, integration test tools and dashboards.
