Data Engineer

At Visium, we empower our clients to unleash and scale the power of their data. We're looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our team. As a Data Engineer, you will work with various stakeholders to provide business leaders with valuable insights from large and complex datasets.
Starting from raw data, you will help build robust systems to make this data usable and accessible. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and efficient data assets, including data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL processes based on well-known data platforms.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Assessing and understanding client's data landscape and assessing data quality
- Working closely with business and IT stakeholders to understand business requirements
- Participating in technical sales activities
- Working with high volumes of heterogeneous data with distributed systems
- Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and efficient data assets
- Building and managing data infrastructure, including data storage, processing, and access
- Implementing data models and schema designs to support data analysis and reporting needs
- Developing and maintaining data quality and data governance frameworks
- Creating data visualizations and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders
- Staying up to date with state-of-the-art data processing and analysis technologies
- Troubleshooting and debugging data-related issues
We are looking for someone with over 5 years of experience building data assets and pipelines using platforms like Databricks and Snowflake. You should be proficient in cloud technologies (Azure, AWS) and related data services. You should also be skilled in data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, and Quicksight, and have experience with distributed data processing frameworks like Spark. Knowledge of designing and maintaining production-level data warehouses and provisioning data lakes is a must. Fluent communication in English and French is required, and German is a plus.
Additionally, you should possess a growth mindset, excel in problem-solving, and be familiar with software development principles, proficient in Python, and well-versed in data modeling and ETL design patterns. Experience in consulting is a plus, and owning one of the main Data and AI platforms certification (Databricks, Snowflake) is a plus. Familiarity with dbt and how to use it effectively is also a plus.
