Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to oversee demurrage claims and processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, knowledge of commodities trading, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing all demurrage claims for shipping and cargo, ensuring timely execution of processes.
  • Reviewing and analyzing contract terms and documents to prepare accurate claim calculations.
  • Collaborating with trading and finance teams to ensure seamless communication and execution.
  • Identifying and resolving demurrage cases by reviewing loading and discharge logs.
  • Accurately reporting and maintaining data on demurrage claims, including overdue cases.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the commodities or logistics industry.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of marine terminology and operations, as well as relevant control requirements.
  • Fluency in English is essential, with any additional foreign languages being an asset.
  • Ability to work accurately, independently manage tasks, and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a focus on prioritizing multiple transactions.
