Research Physiologist

The Biozentrum, University of Basel seeks a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to join our research team.

About the Job

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in biology, forestry, environmental sciences or related disciplines. A strong interest in process-oriented research in plant physiology and experience with sensor networks (automated dendrometers, sap-flow systems) is essential. The ability to work effectively within a team requires excellent spoken and written English language skills.

Key Responsibilities

• To oversee and maintain key scientific infrastructure at the site, including automated climate, soil and tree physiological sensors, and manage data streams and data archives.
• To perform original research at the experimental site in physiological plant ecology or biogeochemistry.

Requirements

• A PhD in biology, forestry, environmental sciences or related disciplines.
• Strong interest in process-oriented research in plant physiology.
• Experience with sensor networks (automated dendrometers, sap-flow systems).
• Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
