Commodity Finance Expert

We are seeking a skilled Commodity Finance Expert to join our team at ING.

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and location.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in trade finance, where you will be responsible for assessing and managing reputational, transactional and credit risks related to transactions. You will also ensure quality of service to clients, identify commercial opportunities, and originate transactions in line with allocated portfolio requirements.

In addition, you will assist Relationship Managers to structure credit facilities and related sub-limits, sign off on client instructions, and communicate with clients regarding new financing requests.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess and understand risks related to proposed transactions (credit, operational, compliance, fraud, hedging, freight, transactional liquidation, quality of security)
  • Prepare transaction sheets for presentation to Credit authorities based on documents/information received from Clients/Relationship Managers
  • Collect and check transaction documents according to credit decisions and first-line controls
  • Ensure that transactions comply with conditions set by Credit authorities
Key Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need to have excellent communication skills, thorough knowledge of products, policies, procedures, and compliance matters. Additionally, you must be able to cope with difficult situations, demonstrate proactivity, adaptability, and entrepreneurship, while maintaining integrity and teamwork.

You should possess a university degree or equivalent background, along with 4 years of experience in Trade & Commodities Finance.
